COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT LOS ANGELES COUNTY HOMELESS INITIATIVE*
“Ashley has a number of strengths to offer the City of Santa Monica. Ashley' s experience as an MSW intern and YouthBuild Case Manager at LA Conservation Corps (LACC) taught her valuable skills about working with vulnerable populations, collaborating with community stakeholders, and policy practice. Through her work doing case management, therapy, and policy projects at LACC at our South LA Charter High School, East LA work site, and YouthBuild work site Ashley gained first-hand experiences in applying these principles and assessing best practices.”
“Ashley Powell is a champion for LGBTQ people and a tireless advocate for families, children and women and men from all walks of life. She would be an asset to the Santa Monica City Council and I am proud to endorse her candidacy.”
"Ashley has an incredible amount of energy, enthusiasm and passion for the progressive causes that Santa Monica residents care about. Not only is she a native of the area, raised and educated here, but she continues to volunteer, live and advocate here. I’ve worked personally with Ashley in Santa Monica, advocating for women’s reproductive rights and she has always been the first one to volunteer to take on initiatives and get involved in the community. Ashley has the determination, background and unique point of view that our city needs."
"I am convinced that Ashley would thrive on Santa Monica City Council because her passion is to pay back our communities and fight hard for the underserved. Ashley is a dedicated student who stands out dramatically from my other students because of her drive. She managed to be an extraordinary student regardless of obstacles and was engaged in and outside of the classroom."
"I have known and worked with Ashley for over a decade now and she is truly one of a kind. Her passion and dedication to helping others and giving back is incredible. She has my recommendation. "
"I am so excited to learn of Ashley Powell running for City Council. We interned together at LA Conservation Corps with at-risk youth and she authentically demonstrated abundant enthusiasm and collaborative responsibility. Ashley clearly understands that the most successful societies are those who attend to their most vulnerable members. I heartily believe Santa Monica could benefit greatly from her service."
"As the Camp Director of Camp Harmony, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ashley for over 14 years. She is an amazingly dedicated and caring volunteer that always does the right thing for the kids!"
"Ashley brings to the table a unique lens that will help Santa Monica residents to better comprehend the unique socio-political perspective that face disenfranchised communities everyday. She fights hard for people from all backgrounds. Ashley’s successful drive will be a complete asset to Santa Monica City Council. "
"I've known Ashley since we attended Crossroads School when I started in 2000 and we also volunteer at Camp Harmony together. She always lends a helping hand to the community."

Santa Monica Holistic Chamber of Commerce’s endorsement is also telling of my background I have had many medical issues since I was a patient at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for scoliosis and I look to holistic resources in addition to traditional medicine to manage chronic pain. I am fortunate today to be nearly pain free for the first time in over a decade. I want to mention that because disability and aging are included in my platform in part due to that reasoning.
As a 4th generation Angeleno and 1st generation Santa Monican I am also pleased to announce my endorsement from the San Fernando Young Democrats. My fiancé is a San Fernando Valley native and some of by best friends are too.
I am proud to be an ally and LGBTQ rights advocate endorsed by Stonewall Democratic Club.
